Ski season is complete, mud season has almost passed and now it’s time to enjoy the spring and summer at Jay Peak Resort. Golf season at Jay Peak opens May 16th, 2010 skiers trade their poles for clubs and are poised to take on a challenge of a much different kind.
No longer will they be navigating the slopes of the open mountain, hopping off the rails at the border park or picking their route through the trees on the glades, for those who dare this monster of the Northeast Kingdom awaits in the valley!
Jay Peak provides a near 7,000 yard challenge that takes you on a journey through the valley at the foot of the mountain. Stunning views of Jay Peak and the Green Mountains, majestic, mature trees, lush, bent-grass fairways and mildly undulating greens, this Graham Cooke designed championship golf course will thrill beginners and seasoned players alike.
While the course can indeed provide a hearty challenge to even the most experienced players it has a softer side too providing 5 sets of tees at each hole so even the novice player can enjoy the beauty of this backdrop. Tee locations allow this 18-hole course to be played from 5,000 yards and adjusted to suit the ability of each player willing to tame this beast!
The front nine holes of the course opened in 2006 and 2007 saw the opening of the back nine. Golfers have since enjoyed the lush green fairways of Jay from May through October of each year but in the coming weeks those beleaguered souls who gave battle will have a new venue to champion their heroics.
Through the winter ski season of 09/10 Jay Peak has quietly gone about their business of continuing resort expansion and the summer months will see the opening of the next new facility.
Hot on the heels of the all new Ice Haus ice arena the new golf clubhouse provides quintessential Jay Peak charm with all the amenities you would expect of any topflight facility. Not a one trick pony the golf clubhouse doubles as a nordic center during the winter months to cater for those folks who enjoy cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and other back country winter sports.
When complete this building will provide full bar, restaurant, outdoor patio, pro shop for your golf and nordic sports needs and above all of this, literally, a unique greenside lodging!
As with many of the expansion projects at Jay Peak this newest facility has been funded entirely by the program that Jay Peak operates for EB-5 visa green card investors.
