State of Vermont Regional Center projects currently have investors from 43 locations around the globe

Doctors: from many foreign countries are provided great opportunity in the USA and can enter on a variety of visas but to remain in the US those doctors will eventually need to seek permanent residency. Other foreign doctors are not so fortunate and otherwise have no practical means to qualify for a visa in the US.

Foreign Students: either currently studying in the USA or preparing to study in the US. Foreign students currently on non-immigrant F1 or M1 visas may be nearing graduation and facing the daunting task of job hunting and being granted an alternate visa to remain in the USA. Those fortunate students whose parent or relative has the means may be gifted the monies to be used for investment. For students preparing to enter college permanent residency in the US allows for those students to enjoy the additional benefits seen by residents of the USA including tuition costs.

Professionals: from all walks of life looking to further their field via the resource offered to them in the USA. Engineers, entertainers, architects, sporting personalities and their kin can fast-track their route to permanent residency via EB-5.

Retirees: and people nearing retirement can truly live the American dream! eliminate the need to have to leave the USA and the worry of reentry by becoming a permanent resident and enjoy your retirement on your terms.

Current non-immigrant visa holders: facing time constraints, visa quota shortages, have been denied extension or adjustment of their non-immigrant visa, business owners tired of the day-to-day grind required to maintain their visa are some examples of people that have chosen the EB-5 route to gain their green cards.

There are a myriad of other reasons that people choose to utilize the EB-5 whether it be just to the benefit of their unmarried dependent children approaching their 21st birthday or because they have found new wealth and want to begin a new life with all the opportunity available in the USA. Ultimately it’s your decision to make and the EB-5 visa has proven itself to be a relatively quick and reliable option.

Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) comments on his proposal for the future of the EB-5 visa program.

Tuesday May 11, The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing on oversight of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the agency that serves as the principal administrator of the nation’s immigration policy.  The Committee, which is chaired by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT.), has jurisdiction over immigration, citizenship and related issues.

“I have long supported the EB-5 immigrant investor visa, and in particular the EB-5 Regional Center program.  The EB-5 program brings significant amounts of capital to economically challenged regions of our country.  Most importantly, this program creates jobs for Americans.  Entrepreneurs in Vermont have used this program to revitalize businesses, with economic benefits and job creation across entire regions.  I intend to introduce legislation soon to modernize this program.  Among my priorities, I intend to make the program permanent.  My bill will also ensure that as it grows, the program remains free from fraud or abuse.”

Through the winter ski season of 09/10  Jay Peak has quietly gone about their business of continuing resort expansion and the summer months will see the opening of the next new facility.

Ice Haus Arena, Jay Peak VT

Continuing on Jay Peak’s expansion plans the next installment is prepped and ready for it’s grand opening.

Not just a desire to expand, Jay Peak will be providing a much needed facility to the community when the all new Ice Haus Arena opens it’s doors to the general public this Memorial Day weekend. Before Jay Peak embarked on their most recent effort local skaters, hockey players and curlers alike had to cross the border into Canada to enjoy their much beloved sports.

As with many of the expansion projects at Jay Peak the Ice Haus is being built with funds submitted by prospective EB-5 green card investors. Investors in the program invest funds in government approved projects and in return are eligible to receive green cards for themselves and their immediate family including unmarried children under the age of 21.

The Ice Haus is but one component of the overall expansion plans. Jay Peak will raise more than $120 million dollars over the coming months and much of that capital will be from foreign people utilizing the EB-5 visa as an expedited method to gain permanent residence in the USA and ultimately citizenship if they so choose.

The grounds of Jay Peak have been abuzz with construction since the start of Tram Haus Lodge in 2008. Construction continues on the new Golf Clubhouse which is set to open in early Summer and the faithful old Hotel Jay will soon give way to luxurious new Hotel suites and water park.

Ice Haus caters for Hockey Players, Skaters and Curlers alike

Patrons of the Resort have been witness to the construction of the arena through this ski season and await opening with great anticipation.

The Ice Haus will feature an NHL-sized rink (85’ x 200’) with bleacher seating for 400, and additional standing space for 300 spectators. The Ice Haus also offers a heated snack bar, with beer and wine, a rental and repair center, a retail shop, four locker rooms and a referee room. The ice will be maintained with a cutting-edge electric Zamboni. You can touch base with Rob Hodgkins at rhodgkins@jaypeakresort.com for more details and rates.

Completed EB-5 Projects at Jay Peak Resort

Tram Haus Lodge, Jay Peak VT

Tram Haus Lodge - Phase 1 EB5 Visa Project at Jay Peak Resort

The first EB-5 project offered by Jay Peak has been an overwhelming success. Foreign investors raised a capital of $17.5 million dollars that was utilized to fund the construction of the fabulous new Tram Haus Lodge all-suite hotel.

Built at the foot of the mountain adjacent to the tram station, the building was completed and opened for business in December 2009 to mark the start of ski season at Jay Peak. Although the building is entirely new architects and designers paid homage to the Resort’s roots by utilizing much of the Resort’s history for accents throughout the building.

Jay Peak owner and CEO, Bill Stenger has been actively transitioning the Resort to a four season destination and Tram Haus Lodge is the first of many new accomodation facilities with that plan in mind. The new hotel boasts amenities including the Tiaga Spa, Fitness Center, Tower Bar, restaurants, shops and ski rental facility all strategically located to provide a true ski-in, ski-out experience.

Resort expansion continues with many exciting new projects and facilities set to open in the coming weeks and major developments scheduled to break ground during the month of May. Planning of additional facilities and services is underway as Jay Peak keep their goal in mind. The #1 ski resort in the North East will soon be the #1 all season destination!
